Making the Image
After spending about 30 minutes getting my lights, reflectors and background just right it was time to shoot. These headshots were intended for a very corporate website and various other media so we decided on a white background. It’s not the easiest thing to do … too little light and you have grey … too much and the white spills on to the subject from behind and washes out detail. When you get it perfect you get an image that pops the subject and still maintains all the sharpness and detail. As you can see below … Mission Accomplished!
Lighting is so critical when photographing the human face. It’s a balancing act between proper illumination and well placed shadows that give definition.

We tried several different looks and several different facial expressions until I found the right combination to convey both Lee’s personality and professional side. I shoot about 60 images in total and produced 7 fully edited final images. Lee was great to work with and took direction very well which allowed me to bring out his best. We had a fun and engaging session and being that he understands my biz and me his we had lots to chat about. Our makeup artist, Katryna Pease (pictured below), did an amazing job as she always does.
I love doing headshot photography! Lee and I were extremely pleased with the images I produced. I hope you enjoyed this look behind the scenes into my life a Las Vegas photographer. ~ Bror Fredrik
